Pictet holds on to top spot in R&M Survey

Swiss asset manager Pictet has kept hold of the top spot as the best overall investor services provider for another year, according to the 2019 R&M Investor Services Survey.

The R&M Investor Services survey asked asset managers and other financial services clients to score their service provider out of seven, rating them on performance in categories such as corporate actions, reporting, settlement and safekeeping, and client service and account management.

Although Pictet scored the highest at 6.24, its score decreased by 0.17 year-on-year.

RBC Investor & Treasury Services (I&TS) sat one point behind in second place with an overall score of 6.23. RBC I&TS’s score increased in total by 0.05.

A newcomer to the overall score’s table was HSBC, which jumped straight into third, with 5.99, knocking Northern Trust off of its 2018 third place.

Northern Trust was fourth scoring 5.91, the same as the previous year.

Following Northern Trust was BNY Mellon, dropping 0.02 to an overall score of 5.46, while J.P. Morgan came in sixth scoring 5.45, a decrease of 0.15 from last year.

Sitting in seventh was BNP Paribas only dropping 0.01 from its overall score, while State Street jumped 0.23 to 5.23, however, it did drop one position to eighth.

Citi, who was also a newcomer to the table, came ninth receiving an overall score of 5.16.

A more detailed breakdown and analysis of the R&M Investor Services Survey 2019 will be published in Asset Servicing Times on 3 April.
